CARING TEACHERS
CONFIDENT STUDENTS
Meet our highly qualified and caring staff with years of experience in Early Childhood Education, ready to address the unique needs of our YMCA Learning Tree Preschool students and help them build their bright futures right from the start.
Ms. Nicole
I am the lead teacher at Learning Tree Preschool. I was born in Dubuque, Iowa but grew up living in California. After growing up in the YMCA summer camp programs, I knew I wanted to work with children. I started working at the YMCA in the summers of 2007-2009 as a camp counselor. I volunteer as an advisor for the YMCA’s Youth and Government program as well as volunteering as a director at our resident camp, Camp Bear. I went to Pasadena City College and was fortunate to participate in a study abroad program at Oxford University in England. I graduated from PCC and received my Associate of Arts (Social and Behavioral Sciences) and my Associate in Science (Child Development: Administration). I also acquired my Child Development Teacher Permit. I have worked at Learning Tree since 2018 and am excited to continue to learn, grow, and explore alongside all our students!
Ms. Nancy
I have been working in the early education field for 8 years. I am experienced in planning and implementing lesson plans for children. I have led the Green Birds classroom at the YMCA preschool for about 3 years now. I am very grateful that I get to be part of their learning process and growth. I enjoy creating art, spending time with my family, going out with friends, and loving nature.
Ms. Amara
I have been part of the Learning Tree preschool for 27 years. I’m passionate about creating an engaging and supportive learning environment for all children. I look forward to inspiring and helping each student achieve their potential. Outside of work, I enjoy gardening & spending time with my family.
Ms. Gohar
I have many years of experience working with children of various ages and abilities. For me, being a teacher is not only a job but a privilege that requires a lot of love, strength, and high morals. The most important things I offer the children and families I work with are communication, family engagement, and building relationships with each child in care. I do my job with great love and pleasure.
Ms. Emily
Working in the Early Childhood Education field has long been a passion of mine. Those first few years of life go by so quickly yet are so important in terms of life-long development. There is never a dull moment with this age group, and the kids make me laugh and fascinate me every day.
Aside from teaching preschool, I am also a photographer and enjoy spending time with my husband and our two daughters.

Ms. Christina
I have been with the Y since 2007 and The Learning Tree Preschool since 2014. In that time, I had the privilege of working with children of all ages. Watching little minds learn and grow is very fulfilling. My goal is to help future generations be the best they can be. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with loved ones, traveling to new places, and watching old movies.
