Dear YMCA of the Foothills Members and Supporters,
As we welcome the summer season, I continue to be inspired by the strength, compassion, and unity that define our Foothills community. May was an especially meaningful month for our YMCA, filled with opportunities to strengthen relationships, elevate community voices, and support our neighbors in need.
Earlier this month, I had the honor of hosting a statewide YMCA leadership mixer during the North American YMCA Development Conference in Long Beach. As Chairman of the California State Alliance of YMCA’s, it was a privilege to welcome YMCA leaders from across the country, including the National CEO and National Board Chairman of YMCA of the USA. The gathering reflected the incredible impact our Y movement continues to make in communities nationwide.

On May 21st, our YMCA convened a community stakeholder roundtable bringing together more than 40 leaders from throughout our service area. Elected officials, school superintendents, nonprofit leaders, business owners, and valued YMCA members joined us in a thoughtful conversation about the future of our region and the role our Y can play in strengthening it. Their insight and partnership will help shape our new strategic plan, Vision 2030: “The Heart of the Foothills.”

Finally, over Memorial Day Weekend, we were proud to host the Foothills Strong 5K and Family Fun Run. More than 475 runners and families participated in support of scholarship and financial assistance programs for members in Altadena recovering from the Eaton Fire. This event represents our long-term commitment to ensuring our neighbors continue to find belonging, connection, and hope at the YMCA.

We deeply value your support of our Y and our mission, together we are making a positive impact in the communities we serve.
Onward and Upward!
