Yes, parents need to accompany all children in our swim lesson program and will not be allowed to leave the facility.

At CCY we have a family locker room where anyone is welcome. The women’s and men’s locker rooms are for anyone over the age of 14. At VHY, all children aged 11 and under may use either locker room when accompanied by an adult. If you do not want to use the locker rooms, individual bathrooms in the hallway lead to the pool.

Yes, all our pools are heated to 84 and 85 degrees, and at CCY, the teaching pool is heated to 88 to 89 degrees

No, we will hold your spot if you cannot come to the first day of class.

An appropriate bathing suit to swim in, i.e., one-piece bathing suits and swim trunks or speedo jammers, are recommended. Goggles are not mandatory but are recommended. We do not provide towels, so you must bring your own towel.

The first day of class, your child will be assessed to ensure they are in the correct level. For safety reasons, your child may be moved up or down a level, depending on the assessment.

No, we do not offer make-ups; if your child is sick with a doctor's note, we can, however, give you a credit for the missed classes that will be put on your account to use for future programming.

All children are welcome to join our swim lesson program. We do, however, offer an adaptive swim program. If you are interested in that program, please contact Sofia Cervantes, who is our inclusion and adaptive coordinator scervantes@ymcafoothills.org

Although our swim lesson program is designed to work on the progression of skills in every lesson, it is not guaranteed when a child will progress to the next level. Each child is different and will learn at their own rate. If you are concerned that your child is not progressing fast enough, we do offer private and semi-private lessons
