Healthy Halloween inspires thousands of kids to donate thousands of pounds of leftover Halloween candy every year. Gianna participated and was happy to see her donated candy go to Operation Gratitude to troops overseas. “I am eight years old and have no cavities. I want to keep my teeth and body healthy.” Kids like Gianna from over 25 local schools participate every year and one winner per school gets a brand new bike to keep them active the rest of the year.
This year our Y will work with 25 local elementary schools and the community to collect extra Halloween candy and donate it to Operation Gratitude, which sends the candy overseas.
Children can bring in their extra Halloween candy to any of our facilities or their participating school. Each pound of candy donated is worth a raffle ticket for a bike raffle. Healthy Halloween presented by Arroyo Insurance Candy Collection October 2020 |
