On Thursday, July 1, the Y's partnership with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC)’s "Pool Safety" campaign was mentioned on NBC's the Today Show.
The "Pool Safety" campaign is a national effort to promote water safety. As part of this partnership, Mike Espino, Aquatics Safety and Risk Specialist for YMCA of the USA, joined Inez Tenenbaum, Chairperson of the CPSC, in a national radio media tour on July 1 to promote efforts of the campaign, as well as the Y's stance on water safety.
Through swim lessons, our Y promotes education on pool safety for everyone who enters our pool. It is extremely important to be well informed about all the safety precautions one should take when entering a pool, especially when there are large groups of people swimming.
The YMCA of the Foothills encourages all members to actively participate in learning more about pool safety. Our experienced staff ensures that all swimmers participate in a safe and friendly environment. Also, our swim lesson curriculum includes persoanl safety and rescue techniques.
